'Friends' actor Matthew Perry dies at 54

Actor Matthew Perry (pic), who became a household name after starring in the popular sitcom Friends, was found dead at his Los Angeles home on Saturday (US time), Los Angeles Times reported. Perry was 54.

Authorities responded about 4pm to the actor's home, where he was discovered unresponsive, added LA Times.

TMZ reported that the actor appeared to have drowned.

Perry received an Emmy nomination in 2002 for his performance as the beloved Chandler Bing in Friends. He has also starred in series such as Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip, Go On and The Odd Couple.
