TVB actress Regina Ho surprised her fans last week when she announced she's getting married.

She made the announcement on social media with accompanying pre-wedding photos shot in Paris.

“Paris – the first time I was here as a student, I was still young and innocent. I fell in love with this romantic city and made a wish that I would come back with the person I love in the future. Thank you for making my dreams come true. Say yes to my love, best friend, and soulmate,” the Miss Hong Kong 2017 runner-up said on Instagram.

Ho, 29, said she has known her fiance since university and describes him as a "highly ambitious and hardworking man".

Although they have only been dating for three months before she said "yes" to his proposal, the TVB actress assured Hong Kong media this is not a shotgun marriage.

“It’s not really that sudden," Ho said of her surprise announcement. "We’ve known each other for years and our end goal is marriage all along," she said, adding that the wedding will be held some time before Chinese New Year.

Ho has starred in TVB series such as A Love Of No Words and will soon be seen in the much-hyped anniversary series The Queen Of News, opposite Charmaine Sheh and Kenneth Ma.
