Hong Kong actor Cheung Kwok Keung and his wife Melinda have been married for 35 years, but their love remains as fresh as ever.

In a recent video uploaded on his social media accounts, Cheung revealed that he still writes love letters and mails them to his wife whenever he's overseas.

"I call her on the phone too, but it's more romantic to write a letter.

"Over the past 40 years, it has become a habit for me to write letters to my wife whenever I travel abroad," the 67-year-old said, adding that Melinda sometimes receives the letters long after he's returned home.

According to HK01, Cheung once said that he still has much to improve as a husband as there have been times where he neglected his wife.

"It's easy for men to be like that. When they get home, they will just say they're tired and go to bed. Yes, working is hard but what about your wife? She has been waiting for you at home all day," he said.

The TVB star then went on to reflect on a piece of advice, given to him by Hong Kong actor Michael Miu, which he carries close to his heart till this day.

"He told me that if I spend three hours outside, then I must accompany my wife for three hours when I get home," he said.

In addition to penning heartfelt letters and heeding Miu's advice, Cheung occasionally relies on his children to keep the marriage stronger than ever.

"I remember for the recent wedding anniversary, I originally planned for a family vacation.

"However, (my kids) reminded me that today was a day for me and (Melinda) and that I should take her out on a date. That was how I ended up going on a couple trip with my wife," he shared.

Cheung married Melinda in 1988. The couple have three children – Timothy, Katy and Holly.
