Chinese movie star Fan Bingbing recently visited Malaysia and wasted no time feasting on the culinary offerings here.

In an Instagram post on Thursday (Dec 7), Fan shared six photos of herself enjoying durians at a shop in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

The 42-year-old captioned her post: “Wa! Malaysian durian ... Sedapnya. This is heaven for all durian lovers.”

Fan tried various durians during her time here – including the D101, D24, XO, Tekka, D197, Musang King and the Black Thorn.

“They also taught me to drink from the durian carpel to avoid (feeling heaty), so interesting,” she added.

Many netizens welcomed Fan’s presence in Malaysia. Some were also amused that she included Chinese, Malay and English words in her caption.

One netizen said: “The first sentence of the caption includes Mandarin, Malay and English, this is so Malaysian!”

Another wrote: “Don’t forget to try nasi lemak, roti canai and cendol.”

Ahead of her trip to the Klang Valley, Fan met Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar on Wednesday.

The audience was facilitated by the Chinese star's Johor-born international manager, Jersey Chong, who said she was proud that Sultan Ibrahim would be the next King.

Sharing four photos of the occasion on Instagram, Fan wrote: “An unforgettable honour meeting the Sultan of this stunning Malaysian state. Touched by His Majesty’s warmth and grace.”

Fan made the courtesy call as part of her engagements at the 34th Singapore International Film Festival.
