Bradley Cooper may have gone Hollywood, but he’s not too cool for school.
He told Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show on Dec 19 that he not only attended his 30-year high school reunion last month, but arrived early, helped set up for the event and greeted attendees as they arrived.
The 30-year reunion of the Germantown Academy’s class of 1993 went down at a Philadelphia brewery on Nov 28. The venue’s Facebook page featured photos of the event, including one of Cooper posing with a classmate.
He got there beforehand “and I put the sign out front,” he told Fallon. “Then people came and I welcomed them and I put my name tag.”
The Hangover star added that he was known as Brad Cooper back in high school, saying he felt like an “imposter” attending as Bradley.
When Fallon asked if his classmates ever “freak out” when they see him now, Cooper emphatically answered, “No! It was awesome.”
He described the night as being “regular.” explaining that he went to his 20- and 25-year class reunions.
The actor and director also talked up his new film Maestro, about legendary composer Leonard Bernstein.
The film has been generating big Oscars buzz in the lead-up to this year’s nominees announcement, scheduled for Jan 23.
Variety has predicted that Cooper’s film will be a front-runner for Best Makeup and Hairstyling and a contender for Best Picture and Best Director. – New York Daily News/Tribune News Service
