Former Hong Kong actress Bonnie Lai Suk-yin passed away on Tuesday (Dec 26) at the age of 46, her ex-husband Kenneth Low confirmed.

Hong Kong media reported that the former beauty queen's son found her unresponsive at home, and rushed her to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Hong Kong actor Low, who was Lai's first husband before parting ways in 2006, later confirmed her death.

Lai got her showbiz breakthrough in 1995 after she emerged as the runner-up of the Miss Asia 1995 beauty pageant. She later made appearances in movies such as Vampire Expert II and Young And Dangerous 3 in 1996.

Lai married Low in 1998 and had two sons. The couple divorced in 2006, and she subsequently tied the knot with cosmetic surgeon Angus Hui in 2007, and had two sons with him.
