Actress Syatilla Melvin who's receiving treatment for a slipped disc, recently revealed she's now dependent on medication to alleviate pain.

Siti Nur Syatilla Amirol Melvin added that she also needs to undergo physiotherapy to reduce pain in her neck.

"Currently, I am relying on muscle relaxants and painkillers because it helps a bit," she shared during a live session on TikTok.

"Besides that, I also need physiotherapy before planning for further treatment because a slipped disc in the neck is quite serious."

The 32-year-old, who is married to actor Shaheizy Sam, also shared what she went through to diagnose her condition.

This included her first experience undergoing a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan, which she found to be extremely frightening.

Syatilla said that throughout the process, she was gripped with fear and even experienced shortness of breath due to the confined space.

"I was in that machine for 35 minutes, and in the first few minutes, I felt short of breath because the space was very small. I felt like I was in a grave, but a bright and airy one.

"I was so scared... but I had to endure it and just wait for it to be over.

"But it wasn't painful; it's just that the space inside is narrow and small to the point of feeling suffocated."

Not wanting to go through another MRI scan, she made sure to keep her emotions in check so that there was no involuntary movements.

"Those who have been through it know how frightening the situation inside is.

"If you can't control your mind, you'll likely have a panic attack and won't be able to breathe.

"You can't move; even swallowing saliva has to be done slowly, or else the machine can't read, and you have to start over."

Syatilla sought out the medical test after having endured three days of back and neck pain.
