It's been a year since Hong Kong actor Philip Keung expressed his desire to spend every Chinese New Year in Penang as the atmosphere gave him the "original taste of CNY".

And it seems like the 57-year-old has kept his word.

In an Instagram post on Sunday (Feb 18), Keung could be seen igniting fireworks during a Chinese New Year celebration in Penang.

Accompanying the post was a caption expressing his joy in celebrating yet another CNY in the state.

"Celebrating this year's CNY in Penang again. I love the vibrant and festive atmosphere here," he wrote.

Keung, who owns a property in Penang, announced his return to George Town on Jan 27 and has since been sharing glimpses of his time in the city.

The Shock Wave star also told China Press that he was interested in making a movie about Penang because of its cultural heritage.

Many netizens left comments thanking Keung for showering Penang with lots of love and wished both the actor and his wife a happy CNY.

A handful of fans also said that they hope to bump into Keung during his time here.
