Local musician Halim Yazid, 64, recently revealed that he married a second wife in November 2022.

The woman, whose name is Nurul Farhana Asyikin, is reported to be a 21-year-old fan.

In an interview with mStar, The Star’s Malay-language news portal, Halim shared that their 43-year age gap is no barrier to love and happiness.

The couple – who exchanged vows on Nov 8, 2022 – is already blessed with a six-month old daughter.

“How we got acquainted is unique. Before we met on social media, (Farhana) used to babysit my cousin’s child.

“My second wife is from Kelantan and is a fan of mine. Although she’s young, she’s familiar with my songs,” said the dikir barat performer, who also hails from Kelantan.

Regarding the relationship between his first and second wives, Halim – known for his song Anak Tupai – admitted that they have yet to meet despite residing nearby. However, he made it clear that there's no animosity between them.

Halim also expressed gratitude towards his first wife – with whom he shares eight children – for accepting his decision to marry another.

In another development, Halim said he has been running a nasi lemak and nasi berlauk Kelantan business for the past seven months near his residence in Bandar Baru Salak Tinggi, Sepang to fill his spare time and earn some extra income.

“If I have an invitation to perform, I will close my stall. Although my wife is capable of handling it, I won’t (open it) as I don’t want to disappoint fans who come over only to see that I’m not there,” he said.
