Hong Kong actor Chow Yun Fat, known for his friendliness, continues to win the hearts of netizens with his down-to-earth attitude.

A female fan who had a chance encounter with the 68-year-old recently took to Chinese social media site Xiaohongshu to detail her meeting with the superstar.

As the story goes, she and her friend were dining at a restaurant in Central Hong Kong when they spotted Chow seated at the table across from them.

He was seen in his signature all-black workout gear, savouring a bowl of noodles with a female companion.

"Bumped into Chow Yun Fat while having a meal in Central Hong Kong. Should I ask for a photo together?" the fan wrote alongside some photos of the actor.

Respecting Chow’s privacy, the two fans opted to wait until he had finished his meal before approaching him.

"We told him that we didn't want to disturb (him) and (his friend) while eating, so we waited until he finished to say hello," she wrote in a separate post.

The fan added that Chow, affectionately known as Fat Gor, was very friendly and quickly apologised after learning that they had waited a long time for him. He also obliged to their request for photos.

"I'm sorry for making you wait so long. Come, let's take a photo together," he said before snapping three selfies with them, according to the fan.

Many netizens lauded Chow for his humility while others praised the two fans for respecting his personal space and time.

"There was one time my mum ran into Fat Gor and said 'Hi'. He then asked my mum if she wanted to take a selfie with him. He's so nice," said one netizen.

Another wrote: "His personality and attitude are exceptionally good. As fans, we don't want to intrude. Waiting for him to finish his meal was the right thing to do."
