Hong Kong actor Kenneth Ma delighted fans during his visit to Malaysia for work over the weekend.

At a recent event in Kuala Lumpur, Ma said Malaysia is special to him as it's where he won his first TVB Star Award for My Favourite TVB Actor In A Leading Role (in The Hippocratic Crush) back in 2012.

He clinched the prize for Malaysia's most favourite actor at the TVB Awards earlier in January.

"I love Malaysia and am very happy to be back. The fans here are very enthusiastic too," the 50-year-old said.

Ma added that he originally planned to indulge in various delicacies during his stay. However, he had to resist the urge from doing so in order to maintain his physique for an upcoming drama.

"I hope that my next trip to Malaysia won't be too hectic, so I can enjoy the food here," he said.

Speaking of his next visit to the country, Ma said he's interested in bringing his wife, TVB star Roxanne Tong, here someday – be it for work or holiday.

"Now that I have two families to support (his parents and Tong), I need to work harder to make money. The next time Roxanne and I come to Malaysia, we can relax and enjoy our holiday together," he said.

Ma and Tong, 36, exchanged vows in Koh Samui, Thailand last December. The couple publicly confirmed their romance in 2020.

In an interview with Malaysia's Oriental Daily, Ma said the key to a lasting relationship lies in one's ability to embrace their partner for who they are.

"I rarely dictate Roxanne's lifestyle. Her comfort is top priority to me, and I let her live according to her own habits," he told the publication.

Ma added: "If you keep insisting on changing the way your partner leads their life, you will give them a hard time.

"I believe life would be easier if everyone just allowed their partner to do what's most comfortable for them."
