Chinese producer Zhang Jizhong is ready to be a father again at 72.
His 42-year-old wife Du Xinglin recently announced on social media that she is 50 days pregnant with their third child.
“Happy to welcome a dragon baby at the age of 42. A child is a gift and divine blessing,” she wrote, alongside a photo of her pregnancy test result and ultrasound report.
Zhang and Du, who tied the knot in 2017, have a five-year-old son and four-year-old daughter together.
According to Sin Chew Daily, Du has an eight-year-old son from a past relationship whereas Zhang has two other children from previous marriages.
The filmmaker has a daughter with his first wife and a son with his second wife Fan Xinman, whom he divorced in 2016.
Despite their May-December romance, Zhang – who turns 73 in May – and Du have no problems navigating their relationship.
This can perhaps be attributed to the fact that Zhang is adept in childcare and is always ready to assist his wife.
Du once shared on a television programme that Zhang helps feed the children and change their diapers. He also does the laundry and cooking.
Zhang is famous for his adaptations of classic novels such as Romance Of The Three Kingdoms (1994), The Water Margin (1998) and The Legend Of Condor Heroes (2003), among others.
