Hong Kong singer Nathan Ngai has been taken to the hospital following a suicide attempt.

The 26-year-old sparked concerns on March 18 after erasing all his social media posts.

He also left a worrying message on his Instagram Story at 2am, saying: “I cannot let go of so many emotions. Sorry for everything. Goodbye, world.”

Alarmed by his behaviour, Ngai’s family quickly filed a police report and a search was conducted in Yau Ma Tei and Sham Tseng.

Authorities eventually found Ngai sitting on a railing by the sea in Sham Tseng. It is understood that he sustained no injuries and was taken to the hospital for examination.

The case has been classified as a suicide attempt.

Ngai’s attempt on his life is believed to be linked to the death of his former girlfriend Jessie.

Last May, Ngai faced public scrutiny after Jessie committed suicide while he was competing in the survival reality show King Maker V.

The backlash worsened after he was accused of borrowing money from Jessie and pressuring her to delete photos of them throughout their relationship.

Ngai withdrew from the show after that and has kept himself out of the public eye.

Ngai recently returned to the spotlight as a guest at singer Panther Chan’s concert.

However, he faced criticism last week when reports surfaced alleging that he had been dating singer Day from the girl group Collar since August – just three months after his ex’s passing.

Day’s manager responded to the rumour, claiming that the two only met “at the end of 2023” but did not pursue a relationship. Ngai, on the other hand, remained silent on the matter.
