Many years ago, Gwyneth Paltrow made news when it was revealed that the American actress chews every mouthful of her food 13 times. It was believed that people who eat slowly and chew their food thoroughly will help with weight loss.

If you think 13 is way too many times to chew your food, then be prepared with Korean star IU's revelation.

The 30-year-old singer-actress recently revealed that she chews her food 150 times per mouthful. That's right – One Hundred And Fifty!

IU was a guest on Korean comedian BDNS' YouTube channel recently when she revealed this startling information.

“I counted how many times I chewed. In one bite, I chew at least 150 times,” she told the host.

Her reason was simple: “If I feel like I can’t swallow the mouthful just yet, I will continue to chew on it a few times first.

"I like this habit. And I like to fully enjoy the taste of the food before I swallow it."

However, this habit was frowned upon by her dentist.

“When I go to see the dentist. I’m told to chew less. I’m told that I chew too much, to the point where I damage my teeth,” she said.

IU, who is slated to perform in Kuala Lumpur on June 8 and 9, also shared that her favourite food is Tangsuyuk, Korean's version of sweet and sour pork.

However Korean artiste said that since the food is not too healthy, she's sticking to porridge these days as she's busy rehearsing for her upcoming world tour.

The IU H.E.R. World Tour will take the singer to countries such as Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Britain, Germany, the United States and Malaysia.
