Malaysian supermodel Amber Chia disclosed on Wednesday (March 27) that she has split from businessman Adrian Wong and has been “single for two and a half years” now.

The 42-year-old shared this personal detail on Instagram, with a photo of her wearing white.

Chia married Wong in 2010, and they share a 13-year-old son named Ashton.

Writing in Chinese, Chia explained that she didn't announce her status sooner as she wanted to respect her son's privacy and didn't want to add any pressure to his life.

The beauty went on to say that while relationships may not last forever, their time together was meaningful. She ended her caption by saying that she and her husband are still friends.

"I have no regrets. Emotional matters are shared. There is no right or wrong. Stay together if suitable, and separate if not.

"The most important thing is that we can remain friends after parting ways.

"Let's continue to strive and grow as better individuals,” she added.

Chia began her modelling career in 2004 when she became the first Asian to campaign for Guess Watches worldwide.

She also ventured into acting. Among the films she has starred in include I Love Wing Chun (2011), Hantu Gangster (2012) and My Mr Right (2015).
