Hong Kong actress Ellen Chan is single and more than ready to mingle.
In a recent interview with Hoy TV, Chan – who has starred in several Category III films in the 1990s – shared some insights on her ideal type and quest for marriage.
“I’m really not difficult to woo,” said the 58-year-old before continuing, “To be honest, what kind of romance have I not experienced? It’s a waste of time to sit around and be afraid.
“I don’t have much time left. If I find someone suitable, I’m open to a quick marriage.”
As for preferences in potential suitors, Chan said she’s attracted to guys with “a beautiful and high nose”, albeit within the context of more mature individuals.
“No fresh meat, please. I’d like someone who can help me in my career,” she said.
Chan has been romantically linked to several celebrities throughout her career – including Anthony Wong, Francis Ng and Johnson Lee.
Her most notable ex is Hong Kong composer Conrad Wong, whom she dated for 11 years.
In 1993, Chan was involved in a dating rumour with her Fatal Love (1993) co-star Michael Wong, who was already married to model Janet Ma at the time.
Chan announced her engagement to Daniel Wu’s cousin, Martin, in 2017 but called it quits 23 days later after he dropped the bombshell that he had a son with a former lover.
Reflecting on past experiences, Chan expressed regret for “wasting many opportunities” for the sake of love. She is now working in mainland China as a livestreamer.
The actress – who has been praised for her age-defying beauty – also shared her secrets to maintaining her appearance.
“I avoid oily, sweet and salty foods. My skincare routine is simple. The most important thing is cleansing and moisturising,” she said, adding that she uses a facial mask daily too.
Chan entered showbiz in 1977 with the movie Alibis. Other shows she has starred in include Perfect Match (1989), Lung Fung Restaurant (1990), On Parole (1993) and Exiled (2006) among others.
