Malaysian singer Shila Amzah has admitted that she’s not prepared to reunite with her mother and siblings following the fiasco over their family home last October.

In a recent interview with mStar, The Star’s Malay-language news portal, Shila said she doesn’t want to let any negative emotions affect her pregnancy.

The 33-year-old is currently expecting a child with her husband, social media personality Muhammad Ubaidillah Mohd Zulkefli, whom she married on Aug 5 last year.

She has a four-year-old son Seth Uwais from her previous marriage with Haris Idraki Elias, whom she divorced in 2022.

“Honestly speaking, I’m not ready (to meet them). If possible, I don’t want to feel pressured, and my husband also advised me to focus on my pregnancy,” Shila said.

The singer added: “Now that I’m in my 30s and pregnant, I need to stay calm and keep my emotions in check. I’m afraid because I’ve listened to many stories of miscarriages occurring due to stress.”

Despite not feeling ready to meet her mother and siblings, Shila reiterated that she still keeps in touch with them, albeit for important matters only.

“My relationship with my family is still the same. It didn’t become better or worse.

“We still keep in touch but it’s quite restricted. I feel like they respect my decision to prioritise whatever I’m focusing on at the moment,” said the Patah Seribu hitmaker.

As for whether or not she’s open to having her family members come over to her home for Hari Raya next week, Shila said she will accept them with open arms.

Last October, there was much drama over Shila’s decision to sell her family home without consulting her siblings.

In a TikTok livestream, Shila said she had done so due to the distressing memories linked to the home following her parents Datuk ND Lala and Fauziah Sarman's divorce.

Shila’s younger brother Syafiq, 30, later accused the singer of being pretentious, claiming that she had the choice to transfer the property to their mum but didn't do so as she wanted the money for herself.

However, Shila warned him to stop using her name for clout and fabricating stories as she had already spoken to their mother, who reportedly accepted her decision to sell the home.

Shila’s mother and three siblings are now residing in a new home, according to mStar.
