Fans of Malaysian girl group Dolla were left in shock when the band announced that member Syasya has left the group.

In an official statement posted on social media on April 8, Dolla said Syasya, 23, chose to leave the group due to "personal reasons".

"We know that there have been questions about Syasya's absence recently, and with a heavy heart, we would like to announce that due to personal reasons, Syasya has made the decision to withdraw as a member of Dolla.

"We would like to emphasise that despite this, we still see Syasya as our little sister, and will continue to support her in her journey," the statement read.

Despite the news, Dolla – now comprising Angel, Sabronzo and Tabby – reiterated that it will remain fully committed to give the best for fans and continue its planned activities as a trio.

The band also thanked its devoted fans, affectionately known as iDollas, for their unwavering support.

"We hope that we can continue to make you proud on our journey together," it concluded.

Syasya, whose full name is Noor Syasya Afiqah Shahrizal, joined Dolla in 2019. The group made its official debut on March 20, 2020 with the catchy single Dolla Make You Wanna.

Dolla recently made waves after appearing on the popular Chinese reality show Show It All, produced by Lay Zhang of K-pop boy band Exo.

In a TikTok video shared by Syasya, enthusiastic fans in China could be seen showering the singer with presents while eagerly requesting pictures and autographs.

"The fans in China are so cute. At first I thought they mistook me for someone else, but they were actually calling for me," she said.
