Singaporean actor Aliff Aziz admits he made a “huge mistake” by reconnecting with his alleged girlfriend Sarah Yasmine earlier in January.
Speaking on The Common Folks podcast on Friday (May 3), Aliff said his actions have worsened the marital conflict between him and his wife, Malaysian artiste Bella Astillah.
“I reconnected with Sarah earlier in January, and it was something I shouldn’t have done.
“When I went to visit my family back in Singapore, Sarah accompanied me.
“We had a chat and I thanked her. This was a mistake on my part. I should’ve stepped back,” the 33-year-old said.
On the podcast, Aliff also expressed shock over the bombshell revelations made by Sarah on her Instagram account recently.
Aside from claiming to be his girlfriend, Sarah exposed multiple screenshots of WhatsApp messages between Aliff and NRF, whom Sarah alleged to be local actress Ruhainies.
This revelation caused a ruckus in the entertainment scene as it implicated several other stars like Emma Maembong, Chacha Maembong, Caprice, Sophia Albarakbah, and Meerqeen.
“I couldn’t believe what I saw. What was Sarah’s real intention when she revealed all that?
“No one told her to expose such sensitive things yet she did it anyway. Only she knows her true intentions,” Aliff said.
The Singaporean also said he hopes Sarah was enjoying the publicity she’s receiving.
“I hope she enjoyed the five minutes of fame and that she can sleep well after everything she’s done.
“But be careful because everything we do has consequences. What has already happened is something we can’t turn back time and change. So thank you and goodbye,” he added.
On March 9, Aliff and Ruhainies, 31, were detained by religious authorities for suspected khalwat in a condominium in Kuala Lumpur.
Bella filed for a divorce a few days later, but Aliff refused to divorce her during the second hearing on April 4.
The estranged couple, who tied the knot in September 2016, shares two children.
