Hong Kong singers Joey Yung, Charlene Choi and Gillian Chung were in Singapore and Penang earlier in March to film the second season of the variety show Girls’ Spectacular Journey.

The travelogue follows the three friends as they explore various cities and try the food there.

In the third episode aired on May 7, the trio visited a durian cafe near Singapore’s Chinatown, where they learned how to cut open durians and sampled different variations of the fruit.

While Yung, 43, found the King of Fruits to be delightful, it was the complete opposite for Choi, 41.

Despite being the “foodie of the group”, the Cantopop diva was unable to hide her disgusted expression when she took a bite of the Musang King and spat it out.

She then asked: “Where’s the delicious part?”

The production team then told the three stars that they can either finish the durians or fork out some cash and purchase a pass card to complete the mission.

However, Yung, who’s a huge durian enthusiast, said it was a waste of money to do so and immediately began tucking away at the durians.

Aside from durian, Choi doesn’t fancy watermelons either.

She said: “I don’t like the taste. Just smelling it makes me want to vomit. I ate it when I was younger and because I vomited, I never thought of eating it again.”

But if given the choice between the watermelon and durian, Choi said she would pick the durian.
