Hong Kong superstar Andy Lau has addressed the speculation that his Malaysian wife, former model Carol Chu, is expecting their second child.
Talks of Lau, 62, wanting a son with Chu, 58, have been circulating lately. The couple, who tied the knot in 2008, share a 12-year-old daughter, Hanna.
According to reports, Lau didn’t confirm nor deny the pregnancy rumours during a recent interview.
However, he did mention that he would provide clarification on the matter through his official website Andy World Club.
Putting an end to the hearsay in a statement on May 8, the Heavenly King said: “When it comes to speculative news, I have always chosen not to respond and say thanks for the concern.
“Therefore, I’m choosing to make it clear, it hasn’t happened yet!”
This isn’t the first time Lau has rubbished rumours of his wife expecting a second child.
In late 2015, it is reported that Lau allegedly sought the help of a professional doctor as he wanted a son – a claim that was later debunked.
The singer also denied news of his wife’s pregnancy in 2016 and made it clear then that he doesn’t plan on having another kid.
In another update, Lau is expected to stage his first concert in Malaysia in five years.
In a Facebook post on May 8, concert organiser Star Planet announced that the singer will be performing at the Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil in Kuala Lumpur this October.
It added that additional details will be unveiled soon.
