Malaysian singer Jaclyn Victor says she is happy for her ex-husband, American artiste Shawn Rivera, who remarried earlier in April.

In a recent interview with mStar, The Star's Malay-language news portal, Victor said she got to know the news through an announcement on Rivera’s Instagram account.

“I’m honestly very happy because he previously said he didn’t want to marry again. In the end, he met someone and they got married.

“I extended my congratulations in an Instagram Story and wished the best for them. I wish him and his wife eternal happiness,” the 45-year-old said.

Victor added that she is on good terms with Rivera, who still makes an effort to communicate with their two children.

The Gegar Vaganza champion said in a previous interview that she wanted the 52-year-old to visit their kids in Malaysia as she won't be bringing them to the United States.

“We are still friends. My ex-husband still keeps in touch to communicate with the kids through video and phone calls.

“He returned to Malaysia earlier in May to see the kids,” she said.

Victor and Rivera – a former member of the American R&B group Az Yet – married in a church in Philadelphia, US, in July 2014.

The former couple divorced in January 2020 after a year of living apart due to “irreconcilable differences”.
