Malaysian singer Shila Amzah surprised fans when she ended her marriage with Haris Idraki Elias in 2022.

While the singer has mostly kept mum about her split from Haris – with whom she shares a four-year-old son Seth Uwais – Shila recently said that she isn’t ashamed of the divorce.

“I am not ashamed because I did the right thing for myself and my son.

“Whatever decisions you make, you gotta wear it with pride ... no regrets. I know what’s best for me (better) than anyone else,” the 33-year-old wrote in an Instagram Story on June 5.

Shila said this in response to a fan who expressed desire to divorce but is ashamed to do so.

The Patah Seribu hitmaker added: “If you’ve been a great wife but your husband is a cheater, he abused you mentally or physically, not a responsible one, there’s no need to be ashamed.”

Shila and Haris tied the knot in 2018 but divorced in 2022.

The singer married social media influencer Muhammad Ubaidillah Mohd Zulkefli on Aug 5 last year, just six months after going public with their relationship.

The couple welcomed their first child together, a baby daughter named Rhea Akira, on May 9.
