The seven-year marriage between Malaysian actress Nora Danish and businessman Mohamad Nedim Nazri has officially come to an end.
The divorce decree was granted by Syariah Judge Abdul Fattah Datuk Kamarudin on Wednesday (June 19) after Nedim pronounced the talak at the Federal Territories Syariah Court.
Speaking to reporters outside the courtroom, Nedim said that he will maintain a good relationship with his ex-wife and continue raising their children together.
He also made it clear in an Instagram post that the divorce doesn’t change anything between him and Nora.
“Nothing has changed. It’s just that she’s no longer mine in the eyes of Islam.
“Trust that if she is mine, she will return to me,” the 41-year-old wrote.
Meanwhile, Nora has requested the public to quit making speculations about the divorce as it was a mutual decision between both parties.
“I hope there won’t be theories about our separation as we prioritise the harmony of both families and our children,” the 42-year-old said.
Earlier in April, Nora confirmed there was a strain in her marriage with Nedim due to conflicting opinions and revealed that they have been living separately for three months.
She said at the time that they were trying to salvage their marriage and divorce would only be a “last resort”.
Nora and Nedim, who married on March 30, 2017, have a six-year-old son together.
Nora also has a 15-year-old son from her previous marriage to Datuk Rizal Ashram Ramli, which ended in divorce in 2008.
