Malaysian singer-actress Bella Astillah is apparently in shock and still adjusting to life as a single mum following her divorce from Singaporean actor Aliff Aziz on June 13.
This was shared by her friend, local actress Puteri Sarah Liyana, at a recent press conference in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
“Bella is still in the shock phase. She is still unable to accept the reality, but she’s trying to adapt to her new status now,” the 38-year-old told mStar, The Star’s Malay-language news portal.
Puteri Sarah added that while Bella was upset with how her marriage with Aliff ended, what pained her even more was the fact that her two children are affected by it.
Bella, 30, and Aliff, 33, share a six-year-old son and three-year-old daughter.
The actress filed for divorce earlier in March after religious authorities detained Aliff and local actress Ruhainies, 31, at a condominium in Kuala Lumpur for suspected khalwat (close proximity).
This marks the second time Bella has divorced Aliff. The former couple, who married in 2016, first divorced in 2019 but reconciled in 2020.
Feeling sympathy for Bella’s situation, Puteri Sarah vowed to remain by her side and offer unwavering support.
“As a friend, I’ll try to support and give her strength to move on. I told her I would always be with her, and that she doesn’t need to feel ashamed to ask for my help,” she said.
On Monday (June 17), Puteri Sarah shared several photos of herself celebrating Hari Raya Haji with Bella.
“Together we enjoy the journey,” she captioned her Instagram post.
Puteri Sarah was previously married to local director Syamsul Yusof. They tied the knot in March 2014 and have two kids together.
The pair divorced on June 14, 2023 after Syamsul admitted in January that year that he had secretly married another woman, Ira Kazar, in Thailand.
