Popular Malaysian singer Marsha Milan Londoh has received praised from netizens for her cover version of Islands In The Stream with Canadian duo Music Travel Love.
Music Travel Love comprises twin brothers Bob and Clint Moffat, 40, who were members of the 1990s pop-country band The Moffats. The very same one who gave us the hit Miss You Like Crazy.
Music Travel Love was in Kuala Lumpur on April 20 for a concert with Marsha as a special guest on the show.
Several weeks before the show, Bob and Clint invited Marsha to record the popular 1980s love duet Islands In The Stream with them. They even flew to Sabah to record a music video. recorded a music video which was shot at Pulau n Sabah.
Marsha, 38, said it was a dream come true to collaborate with the brothers on this project.
"I have been a fan of The Moffatts, and I still look up to them as the duo behind Music Travel Love.
“The idea of singing with these guys whom I have admired since I was young, filled me with so much excitement that I couldn’t sleep the night before the shoot,” Marsha told entertainment portal, Xtra. The video was shot at Kalampunian Besar Island.
Music Travel Love posted a snippet of the video on its Instagram, tagging Marsha with the message, "You make @dollyparton proud." The full music video on YouTube has received over 1.8 million views.
Islands In The Stream was first recorded by Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton in 1983. Written by the Bee Gees, the country song reached No.1 in Billboard Hot 100, making it one of the most popular country crossover hit ever.
Music Travel Love and Marsha Milan join a long list of music artistes who have covered this iconic hit including Barry Manilow and Reba McEntire, Ronan Keating and The McClymonts, Jennifer Love Hewitt, and Bee Gees.
