Singer Meer Nash faced a frightening moment when he nearly drowned while shooting the music video for his latest single, Overwhelming.

The 28-year-old, whose real name is Muhammad Shahmeer Mohd Nasrul, said he did not expect the challenge of filming underwater to be so difficult and is hesitant to do it again.

"I never knew or expected that underwater filming would require so much effort and is actually hard," he said.

"I'm also afraid of water. There was a scene in the swimming pool where I almost drowned.

"Luckily, someone saved me. I will never do underwater filming again.”

On a brighter note, Meer Nash is excited about releasing his first song in English titled Overwhelming which was actually inspired by a sad moment he experienced in his life.

"Five months ago, I was in my saddest state. I lost myself because something happened in my life.

"I felt very alone, and at that time, only music and the support from fans could save me.

"That’s how Overwhelming came about. It is a very personal song that I want to share with all my fans," he said.

With the release of this song, he hopes it will be well-received by local fans and will penetrate the international markets as well.
