Videos of a teen girl selling fried chicken cutlets in Thailand are racking up views on TikTok for her striking resemblance to Lisa, a member of K-pop girl group Blackpink.

The Thai singer’s young lookalike is 17-year-old Kulthida, known as Yeehwa, The Bangkok Post reported.

She was filmed at the Wat Asokaram market in Samut Prakan – near Thailand’s capital Bangkok – while helping out at her mother’s stall. One video garnered a million views, another some 780,000.

Yeehwa has returned to Phichit – a province in northern Thailand – where she is studying, the girl’s mother told the Bangkok Post. She typically visits Samut Prakan during the school holidays, her mother added.

Speaking to the Thai daily, a shy Yeehwa said she was a little embarrassed by the online attention but expressed an interest in entertainment and participates in related activities at school.

“I’m happy and excited to resemble an admired singer like Lisa,” Yeehwa said in a video call.

Lisa, whose given name is Lalisa Manobal, is one-quarter of the hugely successful K-pop quartet Blackpink. The group was the first K-pop act to perform at major American music festival Coachella in 2019, three years after its 2016 debut.

In 2023, it became the first Korean act to headline the same festival.

Lisa released her latest solo effort Rockstar on June 28, which debuted in eighth place on Spotify’s Global Chart in the United States – the highest ranking ever achieved by a female K-pop solo artiste on the platform, reported The Korea Herald. – The Straits Times/Asia News Network
