Malaysian singer-actor Juztin Lan and social media influencer Queenie Ong have divorced after only four months of marriage.

In a joint statement on Instagram, the former couple, who had been dating for five years, shared said the decision came as they were unable to bear the responsibilities that come with being married.

“After five years together, we reluctantly accept that our relationship has ended.

“Upon entering marriage, we realised that we couldn’t manage the responsibilities it brought,” they shared in the post dated July 27.

The pair added that the divorce was amicable and reminded fans not to be surprised if they are seen together at events.

They also urged the public to give them space for the time being.

“We ended things peacefully and aren't on bad terms. We have made our statement and will not respond further regarding this matter,” they said.

Lan, 34, proposed to Ong at his solo concert in Kuala Lumpur last November and tied the knot with her on March 6.

Rumours of their breakup surfaced earlier this month after sharp-eyed netizens noticed that Ong had deleted all photos and videos with Lan from her Instagram account.

Things heated up when Ong allegedly commented “Delete it, disgusting” on a photo of her and Lan at their registration, according to China Press.
