On Wednesday (Aug 21), Gan took to Instagram Story to share the aftermath, posting photos of the damage – including a burnt wallet, charred bank cards, singed bedsheets and a hole in her bag.

“Never expected something I’d see on the news would happen to me.

“I dare not think what would’ve happened if I had placed (the power bank directly) on the mattress, in a wardrobe full of clothes or in a room filled with pillows. It would have been unimaginable,” the 33-year-old wrote.

Gan also shared a photo of her injury and assured fans it was only a minor burn.

The singer further stated that she wasn’t even using the power bank when it exploded, adding that it's neither new nor old.

She also noted that her power bank showed no visible signs of swelling or damage.

“Fortunately, nothing more serious happened. At that moment when the fire started, I was really stunned. I hope everyone will be more careful when using power banks,” she wrote.
