Hong Kong stars Eric Tsang, Bobby Au-yeung and Edmond So are currently in Malaysia to film a Chinese New Year movie, titled Money Games.

During a press conference in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday (Aug 27), Tsang praised the professionalism of the local cast – including Jack Lim, Choo Hao Ren, Sandra Lim, Wayne Thong and more.

The actor, who serves as the general manager of TVB, also expressed excitement at receiving the opportunity to film a CNY movie in Malaysia.

“I’m very happy to film a Chinese New Year movie in Malaysia, where the celebrations are so lively. I heard this is also the South-East Asian country with the most CNY songs,” the 71-year-old said.

Cantopop singer So also had nothing but praise for the Malaysian production team, adding that they were very dedicated and efficient.

“They made me feel at ease. I hope to collaborate with Malaysia each year,” the 58-year-old said.

Scheduled for a 2025 release, Money Games, directed by Malaysian filmmaker Matt Lai, follows Big Boss Zeng (Tsang) and his team of undercover agents as they dismantle online scam operations.

Tensions rise when the scams hit Hong Kong, leading to betrayals among the team members driven by greed.

To end the illegal activities and seek justice, the characters must remain united and overcome their own temptations.
