Take it from Twisters actor Glen Powell: He’s just Glen, not Ken.

Powell was reacting to a statement made by an unnamed Hollywood producer suggesting that the “up-and-coming actor” has more “star factor” than Barbie star Ryan Gosling.

He re-posted a statement on X that said that he appeals to both male and female audiences, in contrast to Gosling supposed limited appeal to female audiences.

“Gosling is a legend. I’m just Glen,” Powell wrote in his caption, referencing Gosling’s iconic “I’m just Ken” slogan from the 2023 blockbuster film Barbie.

Powell’s witty remark earned positive reactions from Internet users as they praised his “humble” response to the report, affirming his admiration for Gosling while downplaying his own fame.

“Humble considerate King, this is why you’ll always be famous,” wrote one X user.

“Two great people can coexist. Commendable standing up for Ryan,” pitched in another netizen.

After his remarkable performance in Tom Cruise’s 2022 film, Top Gun: Maverick, Powell skyrocketed to a different level of fame, becoming the bankable actor that he is in Hollywood today.

His latest flick Twisters has grossed nearly US$350mil at the global box office, a strong followup to Anyone But You, the 2023 rom-com in which he starred opposite Sydney Sweeney, that grossed US$220mil worldwide.

The 35-year-old actor also starred in the films Set Me Up, Hit Man, and the horror series Scream Queens, among others. – Philippine Daily Inquirer/Asia News Network
