Sandy Mo, the wife of disgraced Chinese tycoon Zhou Zhengyi, recently opened up about her confrontation with China-born actress Kristy Yang.

In 2002, Mo slapped Yang at a restaurant in Hong Kong and accused the latter of being a homewrecker.

Yang, 50, said she was unaware of their marriage as Zhou, 63, never told her he had a wife.

In a recent interview with Hong Kong media, Mo said her outburst was fueled by Yang’s allegedly excessive behavior towards her husband.

“I really couldn’t stand it,” she lamented.

She recounted a particular incident that fueled her anger: “One night, she (Yang) called me and said she wanted to speak to her husband. When I asked who her husband was, she said he was sleeping next to me.”

Recounting the day of the confrontation, Mo said she was in Causeway Bay to collect some clothes when she saw Zhou having coffee with Yang, who is based in Hong Kong.

When she called Zhou to check his whereabouts, he allegedly lied and said he was meeting a friend at a hotel for business.

Mo recalled her husband’s attempts to stop her from approaching Yang. However, he gave up and left upon realising his efforts were futile.

“I saw a long-haired woman and quickly hit her. She turned around and looked at me in shock. I then realised I hit the wrong person and immediately apologised,” she said.

After finding Yang, Mo slapped her twice and warned the actress to never cross her path again.

“She called the police, and the incident made headlines the next day,” she said.

Mo added that one should always hold on to what is theirs and let go of what isn’t.

She also warned against being too soft-hearted and hesitant, saying: “Kindness has its limits.”

Zhou was once Shanghai’s wealthiest man, with an estimated fortune of US$320mil (RM1.39bil).

He was sentenced to 16 years in prison for bribery and embezzlement in 2007 but was released in September 2020 after being granted reduced jail time.
