Ira Kazar, now the ex-wife of director and actor Syamsul Yusof, declined to comment on their divorce on Thursday (Aug 5).
However, the 29-year-old whose full name is Faghira Fatini Kazaruddin, is thankful that everything regarding her marriage was settled.
"Nothing much. Alhamdulillah, it's over," she told mStar, The Star's Malay-language portal.
Ira shared this when met after the cerai takliq proceedings at the Kuala Selangor Syariah Lower Court.
(Cerai takliq is a divorce due to breach of contract or promise expressed by the husband after the solemnisation of marriage in accordance with Hukum Syara’ or Islamic rules and the provision under the State Islamic Family Law Act.)
Both Ira and Syamsul appeared calm when they arrived at the court earlier on Thursday.
After saying "Apologies. Thank you," to the media, she left the premise with her lawyer and family members.
Meanwhile, Ira’s lawyer, Mohammad Fadhil Abdul Razak, said his client came to the court prepared to accept whatever decision the court makes.
"From the beginning, I advised her to be prepared...
"As for her emotions, I believe we need to respect them," he said.
Ira declined to comment further on the divorce case.
Syamsul and Ira got married on Jan 6 last year in Thailand.
Their marriage was announced by Syamsul through a video he uploaded on Instagram in January last year.
The Munafik star was previously married to Puteri Sarah. They divorced on June 14 last year.
They share two young children, Syaikhul Islam, seven, and Sumayyah, five.
