Hong Kong actor Roger Kwok has broken his silence after his ex-wife, former TVB star Cindy Au, revealed she is under financial pressure.

Last week, Au shared her plans on taking more on-screen work as she “really needs money”.

The 44-year-old stepped back from showbiz after marrying Kwok in 2006 to focus on taking care of their two children – Brad, 16, and Blair, 13. The pair announced their divorce earlier in May.

During an event in Hong Kong on Wednesday (Sept 25), Kwok said he has gotten used to his new life after divorce.

“Now that I've finished (filming) my show, I need to return to my own company and learn how to run it,” the 59-year-old added.

The Life Made Simple star also mentioned that he rarely communicates with Au, though they do keep in touch to talk about their children.

“She is still their mother,” he added.

When asked if he would help his ex-wife with her financial struggles, Kwok made it clear that he’s in no position to discuss her personal affairs.

“I won’t talk about this. You can ask her about it. You can go to her directly if there are any inquiries,” he said.

On May 2, Kwok and Au announced their divorce and revealed that they have been separated for two years.

It’s reported that Au chose to have her name excluded from Kwok’s assets worth HK$90mil (RM48.7mil) as she wanted to “avoid complications and unnecessary hassle”.
