Bollywood legend Udit Narayan to perform in KL this December

Bollywood singer Udit Narayan, known as the "King of Melodies", is set to mesmerise his Malaysian fans at the Mega Star Arena, Kuala Lumpur, on Dec 28.

The concert, organised by VVST Digital Creation and scheduled to begin at 7.30pm, will take Hindi music enthusiasts on a nostalgic journey through Bollywood’s golden era, featuring hits from the 1990s to the present day.

With a career spanning over three decades, Udit has sung more than 25,000 songs in 36 languages. He is renowned for lending his voice to the "Three Kings of Bollywood" – Datuk Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan – as well as other top actors in the Indian film industry.

His breakthrough hit Papa Kehte Hain from the film Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, launched him to stardom, creating a lasting impact on the Bollywood music scene.

This marks Udit’s first performance in Kuala Lumpur in 12 years, his last appearance being a private event at a prominent hotel.

In a brief video message, Udit shared his enthusiasm about his upcoming concert.

"Having previously performed in Dubai and Europe, I am thrilled to return to Malaysia and reconnect with my wonderful fans. See you on Dec 28, and let’s have a great time!"

VVST Digital Creation managing director P. Gunasegaran said they expect an audience of 4,000. He also announced three Bollywood singers will also be joining Udit on stage. He did not name the singers, saying it would be a surprise for the audience.

"A few popular Malaysian singers will be featured as well,” he said during a press conference here today to announce Udit’s concert.

Meanwhile, First Picture Sdn Bhd director Muhamad Dzul Hilmi Zainol said the concert is set to create lasting memories for the audience who will also have the chance to shortlist some of Udit’s song selections through upcoming campaigns and contests.
