Susan Lankester, Siti Khadijah, Joey Leong to represent Malaysia in the acting categories at Asian Academy Creative Awards

The Asian Academy Creative Awards (AACA) released its list of National Winners on Sept 26 and Malaysia is well represented in the national winners' categories.

This AACA is dubbed as Asia-Pacific's most prestigious awards for creative excellence, both content creation and media production.

The National Winners for Best Actor is Naim Daniel for I.D. and Best Actress is Susan Lankester for the film Raintown.

Other winners in the acting categories include Mikael Noah for Hermaphrodite: Che Kun Che Nisa, Siti Khadijah Halim for From Saga With Love Season 1 and Joey Leong for The Queen’s Ploy.

Meanwhile, series W: Two Worlds is named as the national winner in the Best Adaptation Of An Existing Format category and Upin & Ipin is the national winner in the Best Animation category.

These national winners will go on to represent Malaysia at the AACA's Awards Ceremony to be held in Singapore on Dec 3 and 4.

Lankester, who plays Aileen Choo in the Cantonese film directed by Tunku Mona Riza, took to Instagram to share the happy news.

"Thank you to The Choos – Chew Kin Wah, Pauline Tan, Wilson Lee & Fabian Loo. I love you all. And most of all, huge thanks to the RAINTOWN CREW for making the film look, feel & sound the way it does. And for taking such great care of us on set and off. Mad respect for all of you," Lankester wrote.

Likewise, Khadijah also shared the happy news on Instagram as well.

"Thank you @viumalaysia @redcommfilms @linatsj @indiemontage and my malaysian team, my japanese team, my lovely casts, my caring family, my supportive friends, my backbone sweeties and everyone who watches and supports From Saga With Love! You all made this happen.

"This is my first time being nominated internationally, and I'm glad I'm representing Malaysia, and of course my precious, From Saga With Love," the actress wrote.

Leong was also ecstatic when she learned about her win.

"My brain still can’t comprehend this. I paused a few seconds as if the world has stopped when I read my name on the winner list," Leong said on her social media.
