Hong Kong superstar Jackie Chan may be 70, but he still insists on performing his own stunts.
The martial arts legend, who debuted as a stuntman at 17, has earned acclaim for his daring stunt work.
Despite his exceptional skills, injuries are an unavoidable part of the profession.
Chan is currently starring in the new action-comedy, Panda Plan, where his character embarks on a mission to protect the animals at a wildlife park from a group of mercenaries.
In a recent behind-the-scenes video, the actor was seen in headlock before suddenly losing consciousness and collapsing to the ground.
Chan’s scene partner quickly released his grip and assisted him in sitting up while a crew member hurried over to provide help.
The Rush Hour star appeared visibly disoriented as he sat up and turned to a crew member, asking: “Ah! What are we doing?”
Upon learning that he had fainted, Chan explained that it likely occurred as he was holding his breath while executing the stunt.
After a quick break, the actor assured he was fine and insisted on continuing filming.
“It’s not a big deal. I have to reassure everyone. Otherwise, they will want me to use a stunt double.
“If I just sit there and let a double do everything while the crew only films my close-ups, I’d feel guilty. I need to do my own work,” he said.
Chan has long been adamant on performing his own stunts.
During a press conference attended by StarLifestyle in China last year, Chan said he has no plans on quitting action and will continue performing stunts for as long as he can "fight and move".
