Popular Indonesian singer Afgan, known for his melancholy songs, is holding his biggest-ever solo concert in Malaysia in December. The Afgan Live In Penang concert will be held on Dec 28 at Setia Spice Arena, Penang, which has an audience capacity of 7,000 to 8,000.

"My biggest concert so far had about 5,500 attendees and that was in Indonesia. So, my Penang concert will be the largest solo concert of my singing career,” the 35-year-old singer, whose real name is Afganshah Reza, told a media conference, held here recently to announce his upcoming show.

"I am always excited to hold concerts in Malaysia because I know my fans will never disappoint me ..."

Admitting that he feels nervous about performing on such a large scale, Afgan, who won the Best Male Artiste award at the 2009 Anugerah Planet Muzik, remains optimistic that the concert will be a success with the strong support of the organisers and his team.

He will serenade his fans with 25 hit songs that reflect his musical journey.

Afgan, who has also starred in the film Bukan Cinta Biasa, does not rule out the possibility of adding a second concert the following day if there is overwhelming support from fans.

"If the concert tickets sell out quickly, I’m very open to having a second performance the next day because I love performing, and that’s no problem for me,” he said. – Bernama

Tickets to Afgan's concert in Penang are priced from RM138 to RM388 and available at ticket2u.com.my.
