Former Hong Kong actress Amy Yip stopped by a nursing home in Penang on Wednesday (Oct 2) afternoon.
During her visit, Yip, famous for her roles in Category III films in the 1980s and 1990s, handed out ang pow packets to the residents while wishing them good health and happiness.
The 58-year-old, who donned a beautiful blue kebaya, then delighted them with her rendition of Give Me A Kiss – a song adapted from the late Georgie Gibbs’ classic, Seven Lonely Days.
During her speech, Yip praised fellow Malaysians for being warm and welcoming, saying: “It’s my first time coming to Malaysia. The people here are so kind and sincere. It feels like home.”
When a resident praised Yip for her looks, the Robotrix star simply responded: “We were all beautiful when we were young.”
Yip, who retired from acting in 1997, added that the most important things in life are to be happy and healthy.
She also said one will naturally be beautiful as long as they have a kind heart.
Yip arrived in Malaysia on Sept 25 for the opening of her boutique hotel in Penang.
This is her first business venture in the country, and she has plans to open three more branches in Penang.
