Indonesian actress Marissa Haque, who rose to fame in the 1980s, passed away on Wednesday (Oct 2) in Jakarta, Indonesia. She was 61.
It was reported that she showed no signs of illness and had even gone out with her family the day before she passed away.
According to her sister, Soraya Haque, Marissa was found lifeless on the second floor of her home by a family member.
She was taken to the hospital for examination, but was later pronounced dead.
"There were no signs of illnesses. In fact, they had spent time with family outside. My sister was found unresponsive upstairs by other family members," said Soraya to Indonesian media.
Sharing in the grief, Marissa’s friend, actress Inggrid Kansil, revealed that Marissa had often talked about death recently.
Apparently, she had mentioned wanting to be buried at Tanah Kusir Cemetery, Jakarta.
"From what other friends said, she often talked about death. She wanted to be buried at Tanah Kusir," Inggrid shared.
In addition to acting, the Tinggal Landas Buat Kekasih star was also a politician and a lecturer at a university.
She previously won Best Supporting Actress at the Indonesian Film Festival.
Marissa married Ikang Fawzi on July 3, 1986. The couple have two daughters.
