Irish rock band The Script will be holding a concert in Malaysia on Feb 9 next year.
The Satellites World Tour will take place at Mega Star Arena in Kuala Lumpur at 8pm.
The upcoming show marks the band’s first concert in Malaysia since 2015.
Fans can expect to hear hits like Breakeven, The Man Who Can’t Be Moved, Hall Of Fame and Superheroes alongside new tracks such as Both Ways and At Your Feet.
Formed in 2001, The Script originally comprised lead vocalist Danny O'Donoghue, drummer Glen Power and lead guitarist Mark Sheehan.
The band is known for its anthemic pop-rock sound, powerful vocals and heartfelt lyrics that explore themes of love, loss and personal growth.
Its latest album Satellites, released earlier in August, is a tribute to the late Sheehan. The cover art features the band alongside a hooded figure which symbolises Sheehan enduring spirit.
“It’ll never be the same Script. We're just trying to move forward and keep making more great music,” said O’Donoghue.
Sheehan died in April 2023 after "a brief illness", according to The Hollywood Reporter. He was 46.
Earlier in May, The Script welcomed two new members to the band – bassist Ben Sargeant and guitarist Ben Weaver.
The Satellites World Tour celebrates both the album and The Script's legacy, while looking ahead to a promising future.
Throughout its career, The Script has earned numerous achievements – amassing over 10 billion streams, selling 12 million album sales and earning six No.1 albums in the United Kingdom.
Tickets for The Script Satellites World Tour in Kuala Lumpur, priced from RM198 onwards will go on sale Oct 19, at noon via golive-asia.com.
