Actress Francesca Eastwood, the daughter of Oscar-winning director Clint Eastwood, was arrested over the weekend after a fight with her boyfriend allegedly escalated to violence.
The 31-year-old socialite, whom the 94-year-old director shares with ex Frances Fisher, was reportedly booked on Saturday (Oct 12) for felony domestic violence and released after posting US$50,000 (RM215,524) bail, according to online records viewed by TMZ.
Earlier that night, the Old and Running On Empty actress was driving with her boyfriend in Beverly Hills, California, US when law enforcement sources say a verbal altercation erupted, and eventually things turned physical.
The boyfriend, who has not been named, reportedly called the cops, who told him to head to the Beverly Hills Police Department’s Safety Zone so he could sit down with officers.
Upon arrival, sources say police took note of his visible injuries and they took the Fargo actress into custody. It’s unclear what injuries were sustained, though the boyfriend refused medical assistance, according to TMZ.
Though Francesca has posted on Instagram since the alleged ordeal, she has not publicly commented on the incident. She has however posted multiple times in the days since, promoting projects including the upcoming biopic Queen Of The Ring.
In 2012, Francesca appeared in all but two episodes of E!’s short-lived reality series, Mrs. Eastwood & Company, which centred on her former stepmum Dina, the manager of the a cappella group Overtone, and Francesca’s younger sister Morgan.
Francesca will also soon be seen in her father’s hotly anticipated courtroom drama, Juror #2. Her mother, Frances Fisher, is known for roles in Titanic and Eastwood’s Unforgiven.
The arrest comes not long after Eastwood’s longtime partner, Christina Sandera, died of a heart attack in July.
Sandera was remembered by Eastwood as “a lovely, caring woman, and I will miss her very much.” She was 61. – New York Daily News/Tribune News Service
