It’s been one year since Britney Spears and her ex-husband Sam Asghari filed for divorce after nearly 15 months of marriage.

The former couple wed after dating for six years in June 2022. They announced their divorce in August 2023.

Now, Spears has shared a video of the day she says she married herself.

On Oct 20, Spears took to Instagram to share a video of herself in a white silky dress and a lace veil draped over her head.

In typical Spears fashion, she filmed herself striking several poses. But people are taking note of what she said in the caption.

“The day I married myself,” Spears wrote. “Bringing it back because it might seem embarrassing or stupid, but I think it’s the most brilliant thing I’ve ever done!!!”

In December 2022, six months after marrying Asghari, Spears shared the exact video for the first time.

“Yeah...I married myself,” she wrote at the time. “I got bored, liked my veil and said ‘IS THIS CRAZY? OR IS THERE SOMETHING TO IT?’”

Spears reassured her fans at the time that she was still “married to hubby too.”

In March, Spears admitted she was going through a difficult time in her life.

In her Instagram post, Spears summarised the recent tropical vacation she was on. She talked about not having motivation in the gym, riding bikes with friends, playing tennis and almost losing her phone.

Spears talked about people making fun of her because she using a ring light while filming her Instagram videos before saying her favourite part of the trip was “being naked in the water.”

But as Spears continued, the more unnerving her message got. The former pop star told her followers that she has changed her “name to XILA.”

She then admitted that, “I actually am having a hard time understanding English.” – The Charlotte Observer/Tribune News Service
