Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen is pregnant two years after her divorce.
According to American magazine People, quoting a source close to Bundchen, the 44-year-old is expecting her first child with her boyfriend Joaquim Valente, 35. American entertainment news portal TMZ quoted sources saying she was five to six months pregnant.
The child will be her third as she shares two children – son Benjamin, 14, and daughter Vivian, 11 – with former professional American football quarterback Tom Brady, 47. They divorced in October 2022 after 13 years of marriage.
People noted that Bundchen, a Victoria’s Secret Angel from 1999 to 2006, was absent from the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2024 in New York on Oct 15.
The show featured some of the American brand’s best-known Angels, such as Tyra Banks, Gigi Hadid and Adriana Lima.
Bundchen was first linked to Valente, a jiu-jitsu instructor based in Miami, in November 2022. They were then spotted together with her two children in Provincia de Puntarenas in Costa Rica, according to American celebrity gossip website Page Six.
Valente operates the Valente Brothers jiu-jitsu studio in Miami, Florida, with his brothers, Pedro and Gui, according to their website.
Bundchen disclosed in an Instagram post in February 2022 that she was learning jiu-jitsu, thanking the Valente Brothers “for being awesome teachers and for making training so much fun”.
Page Six confirmed in February that Bundchen and Valentine were “deeply in love” after they were spotted kissing on Valentine’s Day.
A source told People in the same month that the couple had been dating since June 2023.
A second source added: “He was a huge comfort for Gisele while she went through her divorce. Their friendship turned romantic after the divorce.”
A few hours after news of Bundchen’s pregnancy broke, Brady posted on Instagram Stories a photo of a setting sun, with the lyrics of the song Landslide playing over the clip.
“Oh, mirror in the sky, what is love? Can the child within my heart rise above? Can I sail through the changing ocean tides?” he quoted. – The Straits Times/Asia News Network
