After being a heavy smoker for decades, Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan finally quit the habit.

He said he quit after experiencing breathing difficulties.

The Kuch Kuch Hota Hai star surprised many when he revealed that he used to smoke 100 cigarettes a day.

Despite changing his lifestyle, the 59-year-old is still struggling with shortness of breath.

"I thought I wouldn’t experience shortness of breath anymore after quitting, but it’s still the same," he said.

Shah Rukh shared this on his birthday celebration on Saturday (Nov 2).

However, the actor remains optimistic about his decision and believes his condition will gradually improve.

"Please pray for the best for me. I am confident everything will be fine, InshaAllah," he added.

His habit even got him fined – he was caught smoking while watching a cricket match in 2012.

In 2017, Shah Rukh wanted to quit this unhealthy habit for the sake of his children but failed to control his urges.
