Hong Kong superstar Chow Yun Fat gave fans a health scare in May when photos surfaced on social media, showing ping-pong ball-sized lumps on his legs.

The images quickly ignited rumours that the 69-year-old actor could be dealing with a possible tumour on his limbs.

After months of speculation, Chow finally cleared the rumours, explaining that the lumps were merely subcutaneous fat and posed no threat to his health.

He reassured fans that he was all right, adding that the lumps vanished after a quick massage.

"It went away without any discomfort or pain," the actor said at a luxury brand event, where he was joined by his wife Jasmine Tan.

Chow also shared his passion for running, revealing that he now runs up to 10km daily.

The God Of Gamblers star added that he will be participating in a marathon next month, with plans to join a half-marathon next year.

Chow, who started jogging eight years ago, once mentioned in an interview that running has improved his physique, taught him perseverance and introduced him to new friendships.

“Whether I'm running alone or with a group of friends, jogging is a rewarding and enjoyable activity for me now,” he said.

The actor is frequently spotted going for his morning runs and would occasionally oblige to a selfie or two with fans.
