Kristin Cavallari says she was contacted and then promptly ghosted by Britney Spears after floating theories about the former pop star being a clone – only leading Cavallari to double down on her claims.

The Laguna Beach alum revealed on Tuesday’s (Nov 5) episode of her Let’s Be Honest podcast that Spears’ manager reached out to her publicist to connect the two. Cavallari said she later received a “roller coaster” of a text message from Spears before never hearing from her again.

Cavallari admitted to having an inkling that Spears had heard about the comments she previously made on her podcast and wanted to dispel the rumours.

“Her manager puts us on a group chat and... called us icons, two icons coming together, blah, blah, blah,” the former reality star recalled. “Then Britney sent me a text and I’m not going to read it. I would love to read it. Just take my word. It’s a bit of a roller coaster.”

The 37-year-old said she could initially tell it was Spears, describing the text as “like one big run-on sentence.”

“It was one of the more interesting texts I’ve ever received in my life,” she revealed, adding that Spears even discussed hanging out the next time Cavallari visits Los Angeles.

The jewellery designer said she then decided to text Spears privately outside of the group thread, telling her they should get together when she’s in LA next month.

“Then she just never f–ing responded,” Cavallari said. “Well, now I do think you’re a f–ing clone. I don’t think it’s you. I don’t want to hang out.”

After allegedly being ghosted, Cavallari rationalised the initial message was just a “bulls–” attempt to silence her.

“I was like, this does not seem genuine to me. And now you just proved my point,” she said. “You’re not trying to like hang out and be a buddy. You’re just trying to shut me the f– up because I’m obviously on to something!”
