Hong Kong singer Vivian Chow marked her recent birthday with two photos of her younger self on social media.
A 1990s pop icon dubbed “Jade Girl” for her looks and squeaky-clean image, Chow turned 57 on Nov 10. She is married to writer Joe Nieh, 60, the son of late science-fiction novelist Ni Kuang.
“I have been so busy that I just had the time to write a post now,” Chow wrote in Chinese on social media late on Nov 10. “I was very happy to spend the day with my family of two people and three cats.”
Sharing two photos of herself as a child, the singer continued: “Looking back at my growing up years, I am grateful for every experience. No matter what the situation is, it is a lesson that I have learnt to overcome.”
She also thanked the fans who have been supporting her all these years.
Chow is known for a string of hit Cantonese and Mandarin albums such as Vivian (1990), A Long & Lasting Love (1991) and Endless Dream (1992). She kicked off her A Long And Lasting Love Vivian Chow World Tour in Macau in August.
She said then that it was her final concert tour, where she took the opportunity to travel around the world to thank her fans for their support in the last 30 years. – The Straits Times/Asia News Network
