Taiwan-based Malaysian singer Penny Tai, who has been in the industry for 24 years, released a new album, Twin Flame, on Nov 11.

Along with the album release, the Johor-born artiste has announced a concert scheduled for March 22, 2025, at Taipei Arena – the same venue she last performed at nine years ago.

The songstress recently met the Taiwan media to talk about the concert and the album, reported China Press.

When they asked if she’s going to be dancing on stage, the 46-year-old revealed a health issue that prevents her from doing big movements.

The Mandopop star shared that she had been struggling with vertigo for some time.

Although she has gotten better where vertigo is concerned, she was hit with another health issue: Three years ago, she was diagnosed with "benign paroxysmal positional vertigo" (BPPV).

According to the Mayo Clinic website, BPPV can cause brief but intense episodes of dizziness, triggered by specific changes in head position, such as lying down, looking up or down, or turning over in bed.

“It’s terrifying. I hardly dared to move, and even slept sitting up for a time,” Tai shared.

Her first episode occurred during the pandemic and lasted for five to six days; with no option to see a doctor in person, she had to consult online.

Since then, Tai has experienced three more recurrences, each requiring her to see a specialist.

After treatment, she often feels dizzy for half a day, making it hard to walk.

She said that the doctor warned her that this condition is likely to recur.

Tai also discovered that her brother and sister suffer from the same condition, which makes her wonder if it might be hereditary.

Despite these challenges, the Tiptoe Love singer is excited about her return to Taipei Arena.

“I want to be back on stage, but I know I need to build my mental strength and focus better.

"I’ve spent nine years performing at various events, which I believe have prepared me for this return to Taipei Arena.”

Earlier this year, Tai performed at the Arena of Stars in Resorts World Genting, Malaysia, as part of her Drift World Tour 2024. She also staged performances across China in cities such as Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Wuhan, and Changsha.
